"...Sifter systematically matches hundreds of dietary filters, or "SiftTags", against a personās personal dietary preferences across more than 100,000 products. Sifter then delivers a personalized product subset for the shopper's consideration." -Sifter Solutions
The biggest challenge at Sifter is simplifying the user interface to be digestible. This is a challenge because the data flowing from the backend is immense, complex and often times...confusing. I envision an experience that optimizes personas, entry points and capitalizes on the insane wealth of data from the backend, all while achieving business objectives.
With Scan By Diet technology, a shopper can use their phone's camera to scan a product's barcode to learn, in an instant, whether the food fits their diet. A green checkmark is displayed when the product fits; a red X means it doesn't.

When a user adds a product to the Sifter Shopping List, they get more than scribbling items on the back of an old envelope. They are told, if that product fits their diet ("sorry, those chips have too much sodium!"). Also, they are given the power to buy it online OR walk the store and check off as they go. See feature (green button upper right corner)
Recipe Sifter analyzes a recipe against a customerās dietary profile. It makes recipe ingredients shoppable and swappable with each store's assortment on the shopping list. All a user has to do is find a URL from anywhere on the interwebs, paste it into the Recipe Sifter and they are told whether or not a recipe fits their diet. It also offers a way to obtain all the ingredients. See Recipe Sifter in action!
Sifter is a work in progress. I enjoy the challenge of continually improving the product based the road map, client needs, consumer needs and the evolution of the market. I need to get back to work, if you want to chat about this project further, let's grab a beer.
